Missionaries Minister to the World
With the world seemingly coming apart around us, many have taken the exploding crises to heart, responding in a fashion worthy of note.
Missionaries have been chided for taking Bibles to Haiti, when there is so much obvious and immediate physical need. But they have also been lauded for the amazing self-sacrifice and blazing fast response to meet those needs with medical care, shelter, food and water.
Missionaries in Chile, Bolivia and Peru have been ministering for years, and now step up efforts to meet needs that have seemingly overwhelmed governments during disasters.
We support missionaries throughout the world through our connection with International Ministries, an agency supported through gifts to ABC-USA.
If you'd like to help by contributing to the cause, follow one of these links to an opportunity to join forces with others who care enough to give.
These missionary efforts will continue long after the media attention has gone elsewhere. These missionaries were there before the earthquake, and will continue to invest their lives and our resources in helping people there. You can count on your gifts being well used.
"Why does God allow such suffering?" and "why is it always the poor that suffer the most?" are questions Christians must face often, but especially at times like these. One might also ask "why do we seem to care about the poor only in times of crisis?" or "will we do something now?" We need to be Christ in our world 24/7/365, but certainly, and especially, now.
